Video Documentation
On 20th May, We the trash tracker go team went through a great hardship and adventure. Firstly, we gathered at Manidungkar near the parking as mentioned in our group chat. we were waiting for each other when a group of Nurses gathered and created awareness to the peoples in the taxi parking. Then all the members met and went behind the public ground where there were lots of waste. Then we said break a leg to each other and started making the videos of the waste around. we made lots of clips but none of them was good for me. After that we tried to collect all the waste but couldn't finish. Then we washed our hands with mineral water as there was no water tap nearby.
Then we begin our journey towards Gurung basti hoping to shoot videos of waste. while going to Gurung basti, all of my friends are like a couch potato meaning lazy that they couldn't even walk also because of the sun, so we rested in a shop which costs an arm and a leg meaning very expensive. When we restart our journey, we met a grandmother who gave us water and was little drunk. She let her cat out of the bag meaning she told her secret about why she always drinks. It was very sad. We thought about it a lot but at last we interviewed her. She shared all of her experiences and feelings. After we finished interviewing her, we thanked her and went on our own way. We were hoping to get the videos of waste but to the surprise Gurung basti was very clean so we took the footage of the clean roads.
Then we became very exhausted that our friends started to sleep so we called Yazer's (group member) father (Tshering Norbu) who helped us a lot. he took us till Numlakha (sauraeni viewpoint) which is very far. The best part was that he brought us lots of chips, water, sausage and different types of juice. It was a perfect storm when we reached Numlakha where the fog covered the roads and the view point, it took lots of time to fade. While waiting for the fog to fade, we ate all the stuffs brought by the uncle and took lots of photos. But to our bad luck, Samtse town was not very clear from the view point. we were so sad that our uncle couldn't bare our sad faces so he took us to another place where Samtse town was very clear. we took lots of clips but none of them was good. After that we went to waste-filled area near Majathang. we wanted to take more footage of different places as we didn't finish shooting but all of the members were exhausted so we decided to call it a day. Then the uncle dropped us on our respective places or houses.
We regathered at Samtse town on 21st May as we didn't finished our shooting but unfortunately our friend Passang Dolma Lepcha couldn't come as her mother was under the weather meaning sick, so she had to take care of her. What a perfect daughter I thought, but there was no time to think as we had lots of works left. We took some footage of dirty places at Samtse town as there were countless places which were dirty. It was so shy full while taking the footages, as all the people passing from our side always stared at us which made me lost my concentrate towards the video. I said it's not a rocket science to myself and regained the concentration. I took several footages but as always none of them were good for me. We also interviewed an aunty who gave us perfect answers that can melt your heart.
Then my father (Dilli Ram Ghalley) dropped us at Alapakha where our two members stay. After we reached Alaphakha, the two members raced towards their house to eat lunch, so me and Jangsem waited for them in a shop where we were invited to play caram with a grandfather who was so kindhearted that he also gave us discounts on chips. While waiting we had a great match where me and Jangsem were together and a child named Palang and the grandfather were together. I was so sure that me and Jangsem would win but to the surprise that grandfather and the child were so champ that they won the game in few minutes. It was a shameful moment because we lost the game against a small child.
After few more minutes of waiting, the two members arrived so we took footage of Sukriti bridge and river. Although there was no river, we took footage of the stones which can be found under the rivers. We also did some acting about why should we always put waste in the dustbin. While taking the footages, It rained cats and dogs meaning heavily. But luckily my father (Dilli Ram Ghalley) came to pick us and dropped us at our homes. We are very thankful/grateful and all full towards this two kind hearted and superhero dads (Dilli Ram Ghalley and Tshering Norbu) who had supported and helped us a lot in-order to complete the documentation.
